Thursday Night Football DraftKings Picks: NFL DFS Lineup Tips For Week 7 Broncos-Browns Showdown Tournaments

This week’s installation of Thursday Night Football is a return to “classic” midweek slogs between two disputed crimes. Throw in one of Cleveland’s patented cold, windy, rainy evenings and you’ve got the recipe for a bad football match. Cleveland will turn to the backup Keenum case in place of Baker Mayfield, who will sit outside with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. It’s unclear how long he’ll be short of, but we’re only interested in his week 7 absence when it comes to this DraftKings Showdown lineup. Fading or Not Dissolving Backups D’Ernest Johnson and Keenum will be the first to think about those entering the DFS single-game contests this week.

Here’s a quick reminder of the key settings for DraftKings Showdowns: It’s Full point PPR, and there are three-point bonus for past 300 yards, 100 yards fast, and 100 yards of reception. Choosing a Captain costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but also gets his point fully multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Broncos vs. Browns

Budget of $ 50,000, requires at least one player on each team.

Captain (1.5x value, 1.5x points): QB Case Keenum, Browns ($ 14,100)

We are casting Keenum directly into the role of our Captain. It has been somewhat of head coach Kevin Stefanski’s offensive system for much of his career, so the adjustment curve shouldn’t be as steep as we would typically expect for a point starter. A number of key skill players will be absent or compromised, but there are still enough pieces at Keenum’s disposal for him to perform well. We are confident that Keenum can overcome the challenges that await him, such as dominant game calls and suboptimal game conditions, and we believe that perceived obstacles could keep his property and Captaincy in check.

FLEX: WR Courtland Sutton, Broncos ($ 10,000)

We’d love Sutton a little more if Bridgewater didn’t heal an injured foot. However, Sutton’s track record this season is too strong to pass up: he eclipsed 20 DraftKings points on three occasions, even flirting with the 30-point plateau on two of those. We’re probably not destined for something quite as high in a game with Las Vegas totals stuck in the low 40s, but his big game prowess remains tantalizing and worth the investment this week.

DFS TRAINING WEEK 7: DraftKings | FanDuel | Yahoo

FLEX: TE Noah Fant, Broncos ($ 8,200)

Fant is second over the Broncos in goals (42) and receptions (30). We’d love to see more explosive plays from the third year tight end (9.1 YPC), but he had two separate games with more than 10 targets and scored in three games. Even though Bridgewater will be less than 100%, we like to include his two best passersby for this matchup.

FLEX: WR Jarvis Landry, Browns ($ 6,600)

Landry (knee) is expected to make his return to action this week, and will be a welcome addition to a slammed attack. If Odell Beckham Jr. (grade 3 shoulder sprain) is sidelined, this will leave the Browns without their first two targets (Kareem Hunt is number 2 with 24 targets). Landry is a reliable option for capturing passersby that could get more than 10 looks from Keenum as a safety grip.

Alternative consideration: If Landry remains on the bench, there are three Browns passersby tied with 19 targets who are worthy pivots: David Njoku ($ 5,400), Austin Hooper ($ 3,800), Rashard Higgins ($ 3,600).

WEEK 7 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Going back | Wide receiver | Narrow end | D / ST | Kicker

FLEX: WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, Browns ($ 6,400)

The Browns are likely to continue to rely on their ground play, but we want to tap into the right pieces in attacking passes. We have Landry, who, in theory, will absorb many easy targets, receptions and points in DK’s full PPR format. We will also be adding Peoples-Jones for his big-play ability. Despite a stout average of 17.5 yards / catch, Peoples-Jones only captured 13 of 15 targets (86.7%) with two touchdowns. All absences from the offense should channel further opportunities in the direction of DPJ.

WEEK 7 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Going back | Wide receiver | Narrow end | D / ST | Kicker

FLEX: RB D’Ernest Johnson, Browns ($ 4,600)

With Nick Chubb (calf) and Kareem Hunt (calf) out, Johnson will be asked to carry the workload of an appetizer on Thursday night. He played a game in 2020 with more than 10 touches and made 13 carries in 95 yards in that game. He’ll likely share the passing job with Demetric Felton, but the Browns run more than they pass, so there should be plenty of opportunities Johnson can make fancy profits from.
