Parents will be looking for ways to keep themselves and their children busy during the annual vacation, which will last until October 15 in most municipal areas.

Here are several fun ways to keep the kids entertained during the week of October.

Visit the “dinosaurs” in Cuningar Loop, Glasgow

Children and adults alike can enjoy the fascinating life-size reproductions of dinosaurs at Cuningar Loop in Glasgow’s east end.

There are more than 50 prehistoric animatronic creatures on display, including an 18-meter-tall Tyrannosaurus rex, a screeching pterosaur and a 16-meter-tall Diplodocus.

The Jurassic Encounter: Where Dinosaurs Come To Life UK Tour 2021 started on October 2nd and will run until Sunday.

The park is also home to an adventure play area, woodland trails, a picnic lawn, and relaxing boardwalks along the banks of the River Clyde.

Go collect the pumpkin

October 31st is one of the most popular dates on the calendar, as Halloween takes place.

Despite the October holidays, families can still get into the Halloween spirit.

There are many ideal pumpkin picking sites in Scotland, including Arnprior Farm in Stirling, Balgone Estate in North Berwick, and East Yonderton Farm in Renfrewshire.

Visitors are advised to book early for most pumpkin picking sites due to demand.

Book a free family swimming session in Glasgow

Free swimming sessions will be available in Glasgow for families during the October break.

Slots will be available in Bellahouston, Castlemilk, Drumchapel, Easterhouse, Gorbals, Maryhill, North Woodside, Springburn, Tollcross and Whitehill pools.

There is no limit to the number of sessions that can be booked and the free sessions will be available until Sunday.

Visit Cairnie Fruit Farm, Cupar

Cairnie Fruit Farm in Cupar, Fife is open to visitors during the October holidays.

The site is perfect for families, with plenty of attractions and things to do, including pumpkin picking, a fun garden, a mega maze, and flower picking.

There is also a farm shop and an indoor and outdoor cafe that visitors can enjoy.

Discover the witches in Livingston

Secrets of Witches Wood is perfect for families looking for spooky delights during their October holidays.

The event will be held at Livingston’s Almond Valley until October 31 and will be open from 10am to 5pm.

Visitors can expect scares galore, including ghastly sights and scary sounds, as the winding paths lead into the lost witch lands of Calder.

Visitor quota recommends booking tickets in advance via the Almond Valley website.

Enjoy an exciting day at the Halloween Spooktacular in Silverburn, Glasgow

The Halloween Spooktacular festival has arrived in Glasgow, with a series of exciting rides and attractions.

The extravaganza will be held at the Silverburn shopping center in the south of the city until October 31st.

The 25-day event offers a variety of thrills for all ages with 17 fun-filled rides, including roller coaster, scary maze, big wheel, ghost train and a circus.

There is a 33 meter high large wheel which gives visitors great views over Glasgow, while the Gandey Circus will offer plenty of great entertainment.

There are also traditional rides on offer, such as the iconic Waltzers and fairground classic, the Dodgems.

All participants must purchase tickets, which will be assigned based on height, due to restrictions on some rides.
